Everyday People, Everyday Rights upcoming community meetings

|   No comments

The Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission in partnership with the Neighbourhood Justice Centre are holding a series of community meetings for local Yarra residents and workers to have their say about human rights.

Come and have your say about human rights at one of five community meetings taking place in the City of Yarra during June as part of the Everyday People, Everyday Rights project.

People of all ages, backgrounds and walks-of-life are encouraged to attend. Through a range of fun and interactive activities, you will have the chance to explore what human rights mean to you and your community and how they relate to your day-to-day life.

You will also have an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the development of new resources to inform the wider Victorian community about human rights.

Understanding human rights means you are better able to stand up for your rights. At least 10 Yarra residents will also have the opportunity to take part in the Human Rights Facilitator Training Program, starting in July.

If you would like the chance to apply for this program and lead your community in achieving greater freedom, respect, equality and dignity, be sure to attend one of the community meetings! If you would like to attend a community meeting you need to register. But hurry, the meetings commence soon and places are limited.
