Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema here again!

Fitzroy’s Atherton Oval will be illuminated by film, music, fashion and food on Saturday the 26th of February from 6pm.

In 2010 the inaugural Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema was a great success, over 350 diverse Fitzroy residents and guests shared an evening of entertainment under the stars.

Now again in 2011 the Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema will provide a festive evening of leisure and community as dusk falls.

The evening will start with a performance from the Many Moons Choir, a group of seniors who have been learning English and singing together for ten years now.

The Social Studio’s dynamic designs will take over with a jaw-dropping fashion parade featuring local models and the designs of the talented crew at Social Studio.

Massive Hip Hop Choir will perform their crowd thrilling collection of tunes and moves before dusk falls, when locally made short films featuring refugee and migrant young people will precede the exuberant feature Bran Nue Day.

The Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema aims to open up a little crack in the invisible wall that separates the rest of Fitzroy from the Atherton Gardens public housing estate.

Bring a blanket, a pillow and a picnic, or buy your food and drink from one of the food stalls on the night.

The Fitzroy Outdoor Cinema has been established to encourage the community to be entertained whilst offering a fresh perspective on where we live.

26th February 2011 From 6pm.

Films commence at 8pm Atherton Gardens Oval, Napier street, near the Fitzroy Town Hall
